Yes isn't the high low lever in front of the gearstick on a disco, its been a while since I had mine.

I've just got a 1985 110 with a disco 300 tdi like that in it, the gearbox is an lt77 with rev near first which I think is original. I'll post a few pics when I get time as the tub is something I've never seen before with missing bulkhead and modified floor pan......thinking maybe a utilities...

Is the r380 the same for disco and defender then or is the disco one even longer?

Does this look like a genuine engine and gearbox pair, the seller says it is a 300 tdi and gearbox but the bellhousing looks a bit long to me. I'm considering this one but I'm used to 200tdi with the lt77 so would appreciate any...

I got some of those for my 200tdi 90 and they looked just like the originals.

Have you jacked up both front wheels? You should get some idea where the drag is coming from i.e.if the steering box is too tight you will feel it through the steering wheel and if you try and push the wheels from side to side it might be the swivels......there's enough play in the steering...

I wore a crash helmet when I did mine;)

Think very carefully about stripping down the steering relay..... At best it's a dangerous pain in the backside.... At worst it could take your head off.

If you Google it there's a service kit..... I don't know if the springs are part of it though.

It does in as much as its got a crap paint job and 4 wheels.

It's the same colour as my front door..... Probably used the same type of old Harris brush hit with a hammer to soften it up a bit as well.

That's the most obvious ringer I've seen in a long time and he's made it stick out like a sore thumb to boot.

You're better off using a metal series fan as the plastic one will stick out into the rad.

That's not really true....the drivers side engine mount on the chassis needs cutting off and repositioning (the favourite thing to do is use the engine bracket from a series engine turned upside down and welded to the chassis) but the passenger one can just have the engine bracket turned upside...
