Found out what the loud tapping noise was ! Forgotten to tighten the camshaft sprocket bolts up :eek:! Purrrrrrrrrrs like a pussy cat now ! until it get's warm and then the rev's drop and it stalls ?? I have cleaned the idle control valve and reset which seems to be running fine, also cleaned...

No diagnostic device and not a cat in hells chance of finding one out here !! I will just have to check it all out, wire for wire sensor for sensor !! Thanks for your help !

Thanks for your trouble ! Green one on the right ! Won't idle at all once warm !! Tried disconecting the temp gauge (fans come on) and idle control valve whilst it's still cold and ticking over but no difference !!

Any body any idea's why it's cutting out/won't idle and difficult to start when warm ??? Should there be somthing conected to the far right green plug on injector rail ?? ...Please !

Thanks matey ! I don't think it's celebration time yet ! Tappets making a reight racket so I need to try some 10w40 oil to see if they calm down ! Still starts fine when cold, tick's over fine and as soon as it's warm stalls and won't start !! There is a green plug on the right injector but...

Got all my bit's ordered ! The lips I was on about turns out to be the cylinder liners that have been tw@tting the cylinder head ! Not an option here to get the cylinder head skimmed so I'm sorting it out myself ! Starting off with 180 wet & dry taped to a piece of glass and rubbing the head...

Managed to grab à look at cylinder head and it's not been skimmed before as it still has lips round the top of each cylinder! Does this mean I must keep the shim ?

Well that's put a downer on things :eek:

After a slight "hiccup" I got the piston out today ! Has melted when the engine boiled ! Is this normal ! The lands for the liner have 2 little dings but otherwise OK ! Other liners are 0.003" above the block, other pistons & bores are OK. I can't check the head as my straight edge is not...
