Does anyone have any links to where to buy a good quality crankshaft holding tool? Changing my timing belt and my engine is out of the defender so need this tool to take off the pulley and putting it back.

Need some wisdom on how best to remove the M8 bolts that hold on the front crankshaft pulley. I need this off so I can use the pulley holding tool to removal the M30 crankshaft bolt ... so I can do the timing belt replacement. They are very old that the heads are some what worn/rested...

Quick question, I have a 6 bolt PAS box that is leaking from the bottom seal... is it worth repairing it with a new seal kit? How easy and dose it work, i.e doing the reseal kit your self as a diy job? Do you need any special tools.... like a press?

I have a leaking PAS pump (NTC8287)... couple of questions.
1 = is it worth buying the seal kit and try to repair it?
2 = if I need to get a new one is there anyway to use a 300tdi PAS on my 200tdi engine due to its half the price?

Just a quick question to the experts out there.... with a engine lift can you remove a 200tdi engine with the gear/tans box still attached from a defender? Reading the Hanes Manual noted that you have to unbolt the gear box to get the engine out.

Need a little help please... being that currently I have a little more time on my hands now I need to tackle my leaking LT77s, LT230T boxes and the rear engine crank oil seal. And why for good measure doing this replace the clutch.
Prior to starting this I reviewed the LR workshop manual...

Hi, thanks all for the comments... been also having issues with the starter motor and its a bi*ch to get to being that they exhaust manifold is in the way to get it off. But will take the gearbox and transfer box off first to see what room i get.
Hi all, can you remove a 200tdi engine with the gearbox and transfer box attached? I.e if I also remove the radiator to ease the removal.

Urgently need some help please... MOT today which it failed due to oil on the front brake disk. The MOT guy pointed out that oil has been dripping out of the axle behind the brake disk then dripping down on to the wheel. Had it up on the jack and took off the Hub dust cap and hub and a lot...

Thanks all, last year I replaced the swivels and, bearing and gaskets... maybe something I done wong. I suppose the best solution is to start taking the wheel off and see where it's coming from.
It seems to be more of the grease then oil.
Hi, can anyone give me any pointers to why I am seeing oil on my front break discs and on the inside of the tyres..? It's coming from the front axle... would it be blocked air nipple on the top of the axle or possibly to much oil in the axle it's self.?
Hi, my defender 90 200tid was a full rebuild 90 when I bough it.... it has always had a leaking transfer box and gearbox.
The transfer box leak seems to be from the seal on the large rectangular plate... so I am going to order a replacement seal kit and just change the seal (fingers crossed...
