Bit of help please guys. 1986 2.25 petrol 90. I changed my mates tank for him yesterday, took the 90 for a local spin and all ran well. I put 2 gallon of fuel in and my mate put another gallon in when he picked it op. He just called me and said he managed 40 miles and it conked out...

Fitted 2 new front shocks and turret rings. My mate brought his 90 over for me to fit a new fuel tank, so started on that and got it done in 2 hours!

Changed the rear radius arm bushes. Had to chisel the rubber doughnuts out to get to the nuts and bolts. On one side someone had welded the bolt to the axle bracket!!! Took 6 bloody hours in total.

I'm going to say it will be the carb. Ive got a 2.5 petrol and had the same issues, I cleaned the carb out with carb cleaner and commpressed air. Weber carbs are very very fussy. But, a mate fitted a new coil and also had the same issues, turned out to be a faulty coil.

Must admit, i'm tempted. I always thought springs were uniquie to corners, ie, nsf,nsr,osf,osr.

Sounds like it needs thinning, Ive started using synthetic thinner.

My mate has a B reg 90 with the 2.25 petrol lump. Very slow, but he loves it!

Ive just done mine with aldi gloss black, £5 per litre.

Had the same thing on my 110, it was the ignition switch.

If you google 'commercial steam cleaners' in your area, you should be able to find a firm who will steam clean your landy. I used to take mine to a london black cab chassis cleaner, charged me £60 cash. Makes painting the chassis so much easier.

I would look for a decent secondhand 2.5 petrol and fit that. The 2.25 is underpowered, imo, for a 90 with perm 4wd.
