Heater matrix o-ring replacement guide (additional)

In addition to Druim's useful How To, I just thought I'd post this guide I did a while back, since I only have it in my Dropbox as a pdf until now and I don't want to lose it. (May have to upload in separate entries as there are 22 pics). Cheers, Stu

    Underpigeon? or not?

Why? Quite possibly a mechanical reincarnation of the Rolex sporting shell suited owner. I've said it before and I'll say it again; all we can do is sit back and revel in the majesty of a terrible thing done well :D:D;)

thinking of giving up on the damn thing

Like I said before, have been in your shoes, got the heads done and was still having overheating, eventually traced to cracked block. But it was sorted and has given no trouble in five years. But i had the benefit of a warranty fix. Hope they come back with better news.

    overheat and stuck any suggestions

I was in your shoes some years ago and went with the AA recovery, anything else might do more damage. AA guy should advise if it's something more simple, good luck.

    Changing compressor on P38

If compressor makes good air, does not run continuously and you have no leaks then you probably have nothing to worry about.

    Hevac Head Ache LOL

The idea is to take it in for a re-gas and if it leaks on vacuum or fill they remove any gas and don't charge, probably no issue with 3 as long as you don't take them all on the same day :D;)

Wife wants me to get rid of it

Mate at work got Audi Q5 two weeks ago, 55k on clock. Gearbox failed last week. Audi told him it would have been 10 GRAND to fix if hadn't been for warranty. Frightening

Overheated! What to check first. 4.6 V8.

Not wanting to cause unnecessary worry but when I had occasional symptoms of overheat (needle would suddenly fly straight to red), especially under load (uphill on motorway) it was eventually diagnosed as cracked block; the crack would periodically open up when stressed. :( That was 5 years ago...

Overheated! What to check first. 4.6 V8.

Sorry to hear that. Might there be somewhere local that can do a quick check for exhaust gasses in the coolant?

    Air con condenser install problems

Finally got brain in gear, removed lower mounting bolt below pipe connections, lifted that end on condenser half an inch, the pipe connection then screwed in with fingers. Before final tightening, tweaked lower pipe to give max clearance, then tightened up. Dropped the condenser into correct...
