Thanks. A 3/8 drive socket and a 6" extension did the trick. Gearbox out referbed and reinstalled. Just need a wirig gremlin to bog off and fit the rear prop shaft and jobs agoodun.

Spoke to dad and he had already considered it. He also said its the same engine in his toureg and scoda superb and one of there sumps would probibally solve it if theres an issue.
