    Battery info

Make sure your battery leads are long enough to cope with centre terminals. From what I've seen on here, many cars won't. Mine certainly would be very tight IF they'd reach that far (Earth would be my problem)

Disco 2 Buying 16” rims - what can I get away with

Which D2 16 inch alloys have you got ? There are 7 inch wide & 8 inch wide LR alloys. The 7 inch are best with 235 or 245 wide tyres, the 8 inch 255 upto perhaps 285 wide tyres.

    Where do these bits go?

Which Disco is that? I don't recognise those parts ref a D2 TD5.

    Lost spare tire off roading

Having the spare wheel abut against those "back to front" wheel nuts is just wrong ! All the wheel & tyre weight is then trying to bend those long studs at the fastening with the plate / door. Add in off-road up/ down movement & that will just break off. Its not a question of will it, it's just...

    Other Deleted

Brake pedal creep to the floor is not a standard feature of any good brake system - it's a symptom of leaking mastercylinder seals in both brake circuits. Its often tolerable though because its only significant when you press the brake pedal lightly & hold for a long time (ie not normal...

Thanks for sharing that info. "Brake grease" is normally only designed for reducing friction between metal parts not in contact with brake fluid - eg caliper slide pins, brake shows to drum brake backplates etc You've obviously found a better grease that is brake fluid compatible. At the least...

You can check whether the front brake hoses are a problem by applying the brakes from relatively high speed, but applying the brake slowly. If it still pulls, its not very likely to be hose restrictions as they would be only really noticable on faster brake applications. It won't be air in the...

    D2 extended drop links

With a 2 inch lift and standard ARBs, the top ARB link ball joint is normally working at a a slightly adverse angle. Longer ARB links "correct" this, but potentially put the ARB into the floor if you can still achieve the standard full bump suspension stroke. I've been running standard length...

    Electrical issue please help !!

I'm afraid I can't help with your problem, apart from asking if you've tried a diagnostic tester on the car & to ask if you're aware of the specific Disco 3 / 4 forum that has a really good reputation : http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/

Disco 2 The dreaded tyre size question, but with an extra question.

if you want to off-road it, which we would all assume as you've lifted it, you want 16inch tyres not 18s. 18s don't have enough sidewall height.

Disco 2 Swivel ball joint help please

Thats not normal for a D2,something has been installed incorrectly or they weren't good quality parts. I'm not aware of any adjustment on a D2 (there is on a D1 & Defender)

    Discovery 2 chassis

Your chassis may have been protected well by the first owner having one of the various chassis treatments applied inside & outside very early in its life. The external surfaces are not protected from the weather etc, so unless cleaned-up & re-protected regularly, will deteriorate possibly faster...

Disco 2 TD5 Brake Line Questions

What do you mean by flexible tubing ? Either bendable brake pipe or flexible hosing would be OK - but flexible hosing would add a bit to the brake pedal travel as it's not as stiff as brake pipe.

There's lots been fitted on the D2boysclub forum.

    Discovery 3 history

Checking the MOT history onlube gives an idea if the owner always lets things deteriorare to a poor state before doing any maintenance. Lots of Advisorys is always a good sign of a cheap skate owner who waits for failures before doing anything

    Need advice... Ive tried everything

On the wheel with the binding brake, with the wheel off, can you push the piston back into the caliper housing ? IF not, you may have a mastercylinder, ABS modulator, brake hose or pedal box fault - causing pressure to be trapped. If you can push the piston back, it's more likely you have...

    Disco 2 Speaker size??

Beware most aftermarket speakers are higher impedance than OE - SO will be quieter than the OE speakers.

    Jacking up disco 2

Definitely front & rear separately, but both sides up in the air at the same time & done immediately after each other. Beware that dependant on the spring lengths & rates, you might need to get the front quite high & disconnect the front prop to prevent it stopping the front axle dropping fully...
