Alternators knacked ! Took it off and tested it with the drill and multimeter, not a volt oot it, so time for a new one, anyone have any experience with this one, seems like a good price and is a direct replacement fr the brackets, the old one is a Lucas 16 ACR. Thanks, John...

Excellent, might try drilling two wee holes in the existing hinges .....nothing to lose.

Thanks guys, yes, they are in fact Santana hinges, my truck spent most of its life on a banana farm on Tenerife....think will look for the replacement hinges as the present ones have seen better days. Alternators just stopped working, this very afternoon. Took it out, looks like the original...

I may have to go down the home made route.....

Ive got these door hinges on my series 3, would I be able to mount mirror arms on them? Was thinking about the britax arm as I have the heads already....thanks, John

No Problem with a Series diesel driven mine frm Tenerife to Scotland and all over Spain in between. Its a soft top, and lives outside, again no probs.

Buy a cheap old plate transfer it and stick it on black and whites, sorted. Only get rumbled if old bill pnc the vehicle and are sufficiently clued up to know that it isnt old enough. Most youd get would be a VDRS to put correct plates on it.

Happened to mine. Eventually motor died. Turned out it was just a buggered motor , original one, insides all full of crap. Replaced the whole thing, motor, wheelboxes etc.

I made new ones out of brake pipe. Worked fine.

Ive installed two new wheelboxes, and I dont know for sure whether the worm drive goes on the top Of the toothed wheel on both boxes? Ive got it going like that at the mo, but the wipers are going the same way on each screen, I thought they went opposite? I’ve read somewhere that the worm drive...

Eh? Somethin strange here, I’m 6’4 and the wheels not causing my meaty legs any problems. In a standard Series theres no seat adjustment someone must ave put something in....my missus is 5’7 and doesnt have any problems with the wheel either...
