    LEZ compliance....

Range, no such luck, it's a Disco 300tdi. I suppose it does look a bit like a range in my avatar. The engine (swapped from another disco by the previous owner) has covered around 100K on bio

    Aaron's 90 rebuild (round 3)

If you plan on using steel shot then where ever you keep the cabinet must be dry, nothing worse than a sold lump of rusty shot.

    LEZ compliance....

I'm inside the M25, but the LEZ is the other side of Heathrow to me, however the workshop where I make my biodiesel is inside the LEZ.

    LEZ compliance....

Because we live so dam close it's slowly coming to us. There's a G plate 90 down my road, it's not moved for a few years but still looks to be in good nick, if it wasn't for the LEZ I'd be knocking on his door.

    Aaron's 90 rebuild (round 3)

Shot blasting is the way to go for prepping parts for paint or galv. When younger I spent a year as a shot blaster, did anything from alloy wheels (very carefully, from a distance) ready for powder coating, to rusty old steel to be zink coated (sprayed on not dipped), but mostly new steel...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Sworn at it !! In work this morning, supposed to finish at 11.00 but had to say and fix a breakdown, so 3pm I went to the Disco, key fob would not work. Spent 1/2 hour trying to enter the emergency code, then gave up and phoned the wife so she could read the hand book to me. Locked out for 30...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Changed the fuel filter today and now have the full effect of the exhaust, it pulls much cleaner, form lower down and builds speed with less effort. And the wife hasn't moaned about the noise, yet.

    1998 Defender 300TDi Rebuild

It's looking good so far. A little tip for you, line the inside of your blast drum with rubber mat, it'll last for years then. As it is it'll soon ware thin and blow holes in it.

Got the exhaust fitted today, it seems to have improved low down power a little, can't tell if it better at higher revs as the fuel filter is blocking up. It's louder than I expected, think the wife is going to moan as I leave for work at 6am.

I used mine in anger today, I'm also disappointed, they sounded very loud in the workshop, but out on the open road they're nowhere near as impressive.

My Little project...have I bitten off more than I should have....

That looks quite normal for a disco of that age. Check the inner sills as well, as these also rot, and boot floor. All panels are easily found, even the bottom of the A pillars. Buy yourself a cheap second hand welder, something like this...

They come with a relay as they'll draw more current than standard horns, so you'll need some wire, connectors and a fuse/fuse holder. I made up a small bracket to mount the horns on and the compressor bolted in where one of the old horns was.
