    swivels

Hi dieseldog69 , your totally right as normal . Im ashamed to say that when i actually had a proper look i spotted the lock nut DOH , ever-likely it would not move . But in my defence my old 90 had the lock nut on the other side (not on the back) , and why i thought it was simply missing on this...

YOUR HELP NEEDED (SHOW THE MRS SHE WRONG)

I would love a series on a galv chassis , KEEP IT WITHOUT DOUBT , or sell it me . Looks like you have compromised alot , perhaps for the best shifting a few . But get rid of the 88 and you will regret it , i promise .

    swivels

The level was very tight to get a spanner on , I wanted to remove the wheel lock stop bolt , but changed my mind as tight and felt like it would snap off , some serious heat required but i don't have O/A only mapp , let the garage have that headache .

    swivels

As mines an early 96 , so that sounds about right , mine are chrome and have the 3 ports . I wondered if the hubs had been changed for very early ones , and that i should of had the single fill only ones .

    swivels

That's the one . With the grease i guess getting into the diff oil , I assume that i will still need to topup/check the swivels . When were the hubs changed to ones without a drain .

    conundrum

Just done the rear stubs + seals DEF 300TDI , The stub mud shield was with the gasket between the stub and axle beam face and not under the bolt heads . More importantly on one side the bearing spacer washer was missing . Just how important is this washer , ive heard tales of doom if you forget...

Bolt head / spline size calipers

I can get a 1/2 drive 13mm on ok , the 1/2 af, will I guess with a tap , plenty of room around the head to get a socket on, So don't need a 3/8 drive ?? , This is a defender 90 300tdi , are they different . Likewise I've got a britool ring spanner , I'm looking good . Just hope they crack off

Bolt head / spline size calipers

Spot on ta for that , now I know what to use hopefully without cocking it up , I do have a 3/8 drive socket but certainly not britool , And sods law just been out and got a 1/2 drive 1/2af thought it would be a bit stronger .

    N/s wheel leak

magic , all seals and gaskets ordered along with new bearings , in fact stubs + discs whilst its stripped . But i did think of leaving the stubs alone if they looked ok , But sounds like its the seal behind the stub that's causing the leak , That is what i needed to know . Glad you told me...

Didn't know about them at middlewich but there's no one near enough to just pop round , middlewich is most likely the nearest , still 45 mins at best , I should make the effort as I do like to actually see parts , but you get lazy and I'm guilty of the on-line trend . Give JSG,.4X4, There due...

    Help advice asap please

You should not have to do that with a new part , ive found out someone else had them under size i certainly don't want that , not so bad if you have the luxury of a workshop to get the van in and can be left stripped , but i haven't so would need fixing not , waiting for bits to arrive . , why...
