    2a restoration..PIC HEAVY!

So I see mate. They look really good! I think I’ll be ordering a fair bit from them. Really handy to know about. Also, I see they do lots of stainless fixing kits...I’ll be sure to use those! Nice to know someone is out there watching!! Glad you’re enjoying it.

    2a restoration..PIC HEAVY!

So, not a geat deal done this afternoon. But better than nothing! Seat box is out, floors, tunnel, sills and windscreen all removed. The sill-bulkhead bolts on the o/s snapped the plate behind. So I had to cut them. The only way I could get in was to put a slit in the sill itself. But it’ll weld up!

    2a restoration..PIC HEAVY!

Afternoon! Well, I’m managing to get an afternoon of work in on the Landy. Just taking sills off, floors out. Seat box etc! Discovering quite a bit of damage to the ally pannels. What do people tend to do to repair them? Any threads on it? I’m used to working with steel..and I can weld and grind...

    2a restoration..PIC HEAVY!

Nowt done on the Landy tonight. But I did get time to throw a bench together at work today and sort the garage. I’ve been meaning to do it ever since I moved in 3 years ago. But unfortunately doing the house up took priority. Anyway, it’s a temporary permanent measure I think!

    2a 2.25 petrol compression/blue smoke question

It’s a hard plastic washer. But someone’s had pliers or a screw driver to it by the looks.

    2a 2.25 petrol compression/blue smoke question

Success, ish! I rebuilt the carb, lapped both halves of the body. I found the accelerator pump stuck in its bore. Someone had had a pair of pliers around it before hand! Anyway, I got it out and freed it off somewhat and it ran lovely! No smoke or anything. Then it started to smoke again...

    2a restoration..PIC HEAVY!

The body is off. 3 of us managed it very easily. The back of the wiring loom was a mess. Who ever fitted the towing electrics did a rum job! Anyway; I’ll sort that when I come to put it back together! The top of the chassis is in pretty rough condition too. Plenty of holes to be found all...

    2a restoration..PIC HEAVY!

Thanks Paul, it will be! Norrie, I won’t be putting any filler back in it!! I dont. Agree with the stuff. I’d rather see an honest vehicle than one full of filler. The stuff goes against the grain for me. Especially on a Land Rover!

You’re right there! It’ll get done.. I think the main thing with restoration is to take your time. It’s all in the preparation

    2a restoration..PIC HEAVY!

I’ve started to take the tub off the back, and the galvanised chassis is ordered! Someone has gone a little bit mad with the body filler, filling a lot of the panel gaps/seams. The rear sections of the sill were full of the stuff! Remarkably, the panels are all pretty bloody straight under...

    2a restoration..PIC HEAVY!

I acquired my 2a about a month ago. It came from a close family friend. He and his friend have passed the Landy back and forth for the last 12 years. I’ll be putting it on a galvanised chassis. The bulkhead looks ok, though it’s had a few wonky looking repairs. So I plan on stripping it back...

With pic! Zenith carb accelerator pump question

Hi mate, it’s a 36iv. I had completely re built the carb..minus getting that piston out! Anyway..I managed to get it out (with force) and the spring had gone under itlself and was jammed. The sprig is buggered..so time for a new piston etc!

With pic! Zenith carb accelerator pump question

hello there! When I rebuilt my carb couldn’t get the accelerator pump out..I expected it to drop out. Anyway, I put it all back together but I have noticed a load of dead play. Should the spring/piston always be in contact with the leaver? It is only acting on it Having problems with...
