hello there! When I rebuilt my carb couldn’t get the accelerator pump out..I expected it to drop out. Anyway, I put it all back together but I have noticed a load of dead play. Should the spring/piston always be in contact with the leaver? It is only acting on it Having problems with misfire/rich running. Wondered if this could be part of the issue? I have lapped the carb so the 2 body parts meet well now. Thanks, Joe

What type of Zenith is it ?

Have you tried compressing it to see if it'll 'pop' out ?

Have you got the top half of the carb off, so you can remove the emulsion lock ?

Hi mate, it’s a 36iv.

I had completely re built the carb..minus getting that piston out!

Anyway..I managed to get it out (with force) and the spring had gone under itlself and was jammed. The sprig is buggered..so time for a new piston etc!

Check that there is no deep scoring where it came out, but it should be ok ...
