I’m thinking same as Flat. Standard wolf is very high spec as it comes, getting it all back to 100% should be all it needs. Maybe fit anti-roll bars if your wanting more speed/handling and sacrifice articulation.

Mine did similar when pulling off in first. I don’t think my clutch control was fantastic but last year one of my drive flanges failed, and ever since replacing it things have been nice and tight with no judder. Just might be worth checking all your driveline for issues.

Adjusting the clearance back to 10 thou takes out any wear in the valve gear.

It’s military identity is irrelevant to its legality, Chassis number is the important bit. I suppose contact Landrover for info on the chassis. A FOI request to the military with its military reg and chassis number may help unless a previous owner has dressed up a civvy landy as a military one...

Most likely e-bay or Landy shows. Possibly military surplus shops. Also if your on Facebook join the snatch, wolf and military landy groups and ask around on there. EMLRA are worth a look too.

Generally you’ll notice more as you go east and towards Thetford area. A lot of them will be TRO and close in the next few weeks. Bear in mind after a lot of rain they may be too difficult or you could cause a lot of damage with being in a flat and low county.

If the light switch isn’t working, as above sounds like something isn’t right around the selector. James is a legend so follow his advice, if something doesn’t look right or you solve it don’t forget pictures.

A possible cause of your problem is the handbrake. Especially if waded it can get full of grit and the shoes start to catch the drum. The expander on mine needed a very thorough cleaning out. If you Jack one wheel up and it spins with the main box in neutral then your diff lock isn’t engaged...

Really the best you can do for an engine is regular servicing, mechanical sympathy when driving and just generally keep it in the best condition possible.
