    Relocating spare wheel...

Ok...thanks guys for your super fast replies! A roof rack is a no no, cos I don't fancy scratching my bike trying to get it up there! I did contemplate going the spare wheel carrier and bike rack route, but I want to put it on the back of my Disco too, but there is no spare wheel. No...

    Relocating spare wheel...

A tad o/t, but how easy are the swing away carriers to remove?...reason I ask, I'm after a bike rack that goes on the towbar, but most dnt allow for a spare wheel to be there, so want something quick release as such. Is it's just a case of whipping it off with a catch? Or do you need a...

Wanted: Boost Alloys...or do I? Please talk me out of it!

Fair enough...did you spray or brush it on? Is it quite hard wearing then? I'm looking into what shade to go for... Tig Up...thanks for the offer, but it looks like I'm sticking with the Steels now, unless they are ridiculously cheap!

Wanted: Boost Alloys...or do I? Please talk me out of it!

Haha...knew I'd get that reaction...I was hoping you were all going to say that. With regards to trying to sort out the inside of the steel wheel, I have done this (I also swapped them for TD5 rims) but to no avail. We have concluded that it is the inner tube rubbing on the inside of the...

Wanted: Boost Alloys...or do I? Please talk me out of it!

Can someone please talk me out of this, if it is a bad idea... I have standard steel wheels on my Defender with 235/85/16's. The wheels are the standard off white colour, but look a tad tatty (i.e.odd bits of rust specks) Now, I can either refurb the steels (rub them down and paint) or...

    My Tailpipe's just fallen off...

Done a search, no joy... Anyway, my tailpipe has just fell off. Basically it has come off where it welds to the backbox. Now, I reckon this backbox is only a couple of years old. It is a 19J one (with a 200 fitted)...are there any alternative backboxes available besides the standard mild...

    RRC LT77 in a Disco?

Hi, Done a search but to no avail. A guy is interested in buying my LT77 G/box from my old RRC, but he's wanting to stick it into a H Reg Disco. Any ideas if it will fit? I assume it will bolt to the engine fine as both are 200's, but the problem I see is where the gearstick comes...

    best soundproofing/ insulation ideas? techniques?

I did the whole lot. A roll of the 300mm flashband was enough to cover: The rear wheel arches Gearbox Tunnel Footwells Well worth it in my opinion...very pleased with it.

    best soundproofing/ insulation ideas? techniques?

Flashband the rear arches. Made it a lot quiter, in terms of road noise. I can't hear the rear wheels spraying water up any more. Really pleased with it from first hand experience. Looks gd too.

    best soundproofing/ insulation ideas? techniques?

I used flashband in my footwells, gearbox tunnel, rear wheel arches etc and has completely deadened the sound. Looks neat and only cost me thirty quid as well...

    Defender 110 Screenwash bottle access

Are you sure that the water isn't iced up? The pump won't work if so...I'd also check the fuse (if separate) before you start taking everything apart :)

Hmmm, I might stick mine up for sale then for that sort of money, as mine is in better condition than that! Should be able to pick up a nice TD5 then!

Are Defenders Warm? What Can I Buy?

I've got my Defender to be reasonably comfy and warm now. Cost me less than £100, but I can now be nice and warm in her and be able to have a conversation with my passengers. It involved: Flash banding the rear wheel arches, Footwells and Gearbox Tunnel Boarding the rear panels out...
