Everything is repairable.... it's just on cars of this age, often the only way is DIY and not putting a £ value on your own hours... if anyone one this forum truly valued the hourly rate they are spending on their respective vehicles none of us would be able to justify the cost. D2's rust...

Layman view - the td5 cooling system (at least on my 53 plate) is designed to work under a degree of pressure. The pressure ensures the water does not boil at temperatures in excess of 100 deg, thus retaining it in liquid form and happily flowing around the block and ancillaries to be cooled...

Well, I try to adopt the "don't do unto others and you would not want done to you" philosophy, but sometimes having the craic is just too tempting! You know, I'd not be surprised if D2's will start to be targeted - there are a large number still out there and owners keen to keep them on the...

On reflection, that was a bit thoughtless of me... having had items stolen before it's pretty upsetting.... sorry!

If mine is anything to go by, I'd restrict the search to a 10 mile radius and follow the trail of oil.....
