On reflection, that was a bit thoughtless of me... having had items stolen before it's pretty upsetting.... sorry! If mine is anything to go by, I'd restrict the search to a 10 mile radius and follow the trail of oil.....
You would be the first to apologise on here!! Someone did mention that they thought it unlikely to be an organised theft for the sale of the items from the vehicle - I think otherwise - no sign of it yet or so I have herd! Do know what is meant thought - theft is not nice for anyone concerned!!On reflection, that was a bit thoughtless of me... having had items stolen before it's pretty upsetting.... sorry!
Well, I try to adopt the "don't do unto others and you would not want done to you" philosophy, but sometimes having the craic is just too tempting! You would be the first to apologise on here!! All very desirable and easy to get rid of ! Good point mind touWell, I try to adopt the "don't do unto others and you would not want done to you" philosophy, but sometimes having the craic is just too tempting!
You know, I'd not be surprised if D2's will start to be targeted - there are a large number still out there and owners keen to keep them on the road and in good condition (I count myself in that category). I appreciate they are not as "un-bolt-able" as 90's and 110's, and perhaps have slightly better factor fit defences, but when you consider the number of "common" faults associated with bolt-on components (PAS Box, Air Suspension components, engine ancillaries, headlights etc) I'd guess there is value in any half decent vehicle once stripped and sold via Facebook and the like. Also, think about the value / cost of a decent interior - many will have been worn out or carry tidelines over the fabric / leather from the inevitable leaks, so a decent interior, seats etc would be simple to extract and sell on......
Take the battery out and wheels offI am trying to dream up an anti theft system for my disco 2 (03) homemade ones are the best!!
Probably a random theft, Discoverys are not targeted by the ringers and strippers.
Sorry to hear that - did you ever get it back? They had ours May Bank Holiday 2011 .... a very nice 200TDi, just finished the welding and renewing the brakes ...
Sorry to hear that - did you ever get it back?
Not far to the docks in Tilbury or Felixstowe .. in to a 40ft container then gone.... such a shame.Nope ...
I did hear rumours they were being put in containers and shipped to Africa ...
