Disco 2 Using the transmission warning lamp on the dash

maybe you mounted it too high and it was splashing a round a bit? this sensor is rated for detection up to 10mm when i tested it , it seemed quite ok, but still need to actually mount it and test it on the road (and off road)

Disco 2 Using the transmission warning lamp on the dash

I have bought a proximity sensor like the one in this photo: It did work but it takes a bit of space in that area that Im currently using for an aux fuse box. So now I ordered another proximity sensor which is a lot smaller, dont have high hopes that it will work to be honest but it will be...

Disco 2 Using the transmission warning lamp on the dash

Am i correct in thinking that if I connect the green and black wire to an earth, it should switch on the warning lamp? Well i tried it and it did not work, maybe i need to switch the gearbox to auto in the bcu? Although that will have other affects i assume so i wont do that

Disco 2 Using the transmission warning lamp on the dash

Hi, i am currently working on a coolant level warning light and thought about using the transmission lamp as mine is a manual. What would be the best way to tap in? I plan on using a proximity sensor which gives a 0.7v signal when activated

Disco 2 ACE Red Warning intermittent

so changed the transducer, a full week of usage, including a little offroad and still no amber or red lights - so far so good! Just for curiosity I plugged nanocom and checked error logs and indeed, there are still (a lot of) errors logged: fault 22-04 hydraulic pressure too high fault 23-04...

Disco 2 Snap ring lost in r380

Thanks for the encouragement! I actually taken everything off again and tried to fish it out with a magnetic tip. Even tried to lure it with a big magnet , couldn't get it. At the end i had to give up

Disco 2 Snap ring lost in r380

So the latest problem.... Lost drive, gear selector felt weird so figured it must have been something with the selector yolk. I was right. The bush snapped and fell with the selector ball in the gearbox. I was able to retrieve the plastic bush and the selector ball but couldn't find the snap...

    Discovery 2

sounds like something got wet - Any chance you can feel any dampness in the footwell, passenger (BCU ecu) or driver side (fusebox)? as others have stated I would start with the interior fusebox, sorry to say but it is a bitch to take out

Disco 2 ACE Red Warning intermittent

just a little update and im currently at a bit of a loss but I think the dcv1 connector and/or transducer are defective as every time i disconnect them and reconnect them i get a couple of days of no amber lights, then usually I get a red light while driving. after that it is like a game of...

Disco 2 ACE Directional Control Valve Replacement?

So a friend wanted to strip down his ACE valve block and due to lack of research failed to realise that the DCVs are opposite threads (i assume to avoid switching them?). Well instead of asking google why it wouldnt move he asked for a bigger spanner and the dcv snapped. Long story short, I...
