Disco 2 Air Bags To Coil Springs

They actually much improved the reliability of the bags on the d3 and newer, rarely need changing. But then again how often do the d2 ones need doing.. quality bags and your looking at a good 7 years or more.. Mates 04 disco was sitting on original airbags untill a month ago.

Disco 2 Air Bags To Coil Springs

Well there is a reason they are used on the majority of heavy goods vehicles, nothing really handles weight better.

Disco 2 Air Bags To Coil Springs

It's never too late haha! I guess I payed about 400 to convert mine to air, cause I needed a complete new pipe harness that goes for about 100 quid genuine. And quality bags etc.. and quality sensors, that was a mistake of mine..

Disco 2 Air Bags To Coil Springs

Honestly, it doesn't take much to work out if its sitting on air or not. And I do feel the difference from how the front goes in and out of potholes compared to the back, but its minimal, and not a very good comparison given the massive weight difference from front to back. And not just ride...

Disco 2 Air Bags To Coil Springs

Yes, admittedly I believe it was towing springs that were fitted, they were a hard ride. But my last disco had normal springs, and im sorry I have to disagree with no difference in quality of ride, potholes and general driving is all much smoother with bags fitted in my experience.

Disco 2 Air Bags To Coil Springs

And are you using a good brand, dunlop etc? not the cheap ebay ones? And of course.. if it is actually the bags leaking. After getting mine back on air, previous owner had put it on springs I can honestly say I would never go back to them! The difference in ride quality is massive.. the self...

For Sale Mint 15p TD5 engine

So here is, my beloved engine I put loads of work into.. and I'm not saying I'm certainly selling it, but seeing if it gets any interest to make it worth while. Soo, it's out of my old damaged 2003 d2 auto. Has around 160k miles on it. My plan was to get it perfect, and then swap it into my new...

    Disco 2 Uprated turbo suggestions?

Well i guess it's either, cut that webbing out between the ports, or spend a hell of a lot more on an upgraded one, with any luck though it should be good for another 15 years. I think it is also possible to upgrade to thicker studs by drilling and tapping bigger holes, would make it harder for...

    Disco 2 Uprated turbo suggestions?

Well the one I bought for mine (engine isn't fitted yet) was from ebay, exactly the same as the original and came with with all the gaskets. I've heard some people like to cut the metal webbing between the exhaust ports so they can expand and contract individually, but I didn't do that. Anyway...

    Disco 2 Uprated turbo suggestions?

If you can't get to it to apply heat, maybe let the engine heat it up and wait for it to cool again, I would have thought you could snap the head pretty easy rather than not being able to get it out at all. But looking at those pics, I think you have found your problem.

    Disco 2 Uprated turbo suggestions?

And you definitely can't get the 1 rear bolt out the back of the shield? Through the hole in the shield with a small extension bar? Cause if you can get that out you don't need to drill anything.. and sorry haven't really caught up with the thread so don't know if you've tried

    Transmission oil pipes

Er, when I did my transmission cooler, there were 2 black colar type things on there, and pulling them back pushed those metal tab things in.. I only realized on the second one, I just broke the first plastic thing off thinking it was nothing and did it with screwdrivers.

    Transmission oil pipes

If the black cover is still in place.. you just pull back on it to release the clip things inside right?

    Disco 2 One hell of a clunk/grind

Thanks for the info, didn't get a chance to look today but will tomorrow!.... well depending on the weather. Actually seemed a bit weird today, I took a tight road corner and the one rear tire went up on the curb and then when it came back down I stopped, but it seemed like the clunking...

    Disco 2 One hell of a clunk/grind

So I have been ignoring this noise for a little while , but figured it best to try and get a little more info on it. So to clarify, my front prop shaft is furbar, its about to pop out and I know that, it makes a big old clunk on and off the accelerator. I will get round to sorting that...
