That's what I though bottom end bearing's ,I will change them in a few weeks then maybe change the cam and chain .I keep looking at the print out of your how to change the bearings post it's really helpful .I will check the oil pressure and the pressure relief valve first .

Thanks for that Saint , I have just ordered a kit ,my car runs fine does not smoke no oil light in fact the oil light goes out almost straight away the started is turned but if I let it warm up and stick my head under the front bumper you can heard the bottom end chattering .

Could anyone tell me what the thread is on the end of the oil pressure switch on the 1999 thor 4.6 p38 ,I would like to remove it and fit a gauge to check the oil pressure prior to stripping the engine down ?.

Hi I have been looking at Saints very complete post on how to change the big end and main bearings on a Gems engined p38 with the engine still in the car,can anyone think of a reason why the same cannot be done with the Thor engined p38 ?.

I am sure you are correct Wammers you normally are it was over 2 years ago I was trying to sort mine and I am getting old ,the problem was I had an early model Hevac unit in a 1999 model car once I fitted the correct part it worked fine .

Check the part number of the HEVAC unit had the same problem the later cars need to get a feedback from the pump clutch within that minute or it will close down ,I tried two hevac units until I got the correct one there is a post on here some where about wiring a bulb in line to create a current...
