P38A Water pump

Is it possible to obtain the bearings and seal and rebuild a P38 water pump ,there is a bit of play in the spindle on the one on my car I have a new one to fit is it viable to rebuild the old on as a spare ?.

hey, if you buy a decent one you maybe shouldn't need another for a few good years!

The water pump was manufactured by someone therefore,it can be taken to pieces refurbished and put back together. however, whether its worth it or not is a different matter

Don't see the point there cheap snuff new, I sapped mine out because I had fitted a **** part one before I new better

I fitted an skf unit. Wasn't mega bucks but a name I trust..

Airtex are supposed to be good. I went with a QH one from LR Direct on my new engine - again a reasonable price, and decent warranty...

Thanks for the advice folks the replacement one I have just bought is an Airtex mainly because it was not the lowest price I feel better already ,I don't buy the cheap ones my last one I believe was Allparts which I thought was a decent make to be fair it's not knackered there is a little play in the shaft but I don't want it to get much worse .
