Alibro , thanks , ive done this , you were 50% correct , you cant get to the spring through the light , however you can access the whole switch by removing 2 tiny screws and sliding the handle out and from the outside , my 2 springs were missing , someone had replaced them with a rubber band ...

Ive realised that if you push the handle back to where it needs to be as if the spring had returned it it closes so im assuming its a spring , it would be a godsend if I could replace the spring through the numberplate light , ill have a look

No , handle not springing back , appears springs might have gone , after I get the door card off and purchase springs is this an easy job?

Hi guys , freelander repairs all going well so far , however I Have a new issue, although the boot door always locks it sometimes bounces back when im trying to close it , any ideas , its almost as if the lock latch isnt closing properly

Thanks all , I don't think it is the front one , I've tried rocking all of them and the only one that moved is the passenger side , im assuming (I could be wrong) that the is LH ? Looks like an easy job but rusted bolts are a pain .
