I had a dream (not literally) a friend of mine was selling a 2002 1.8 freelander mot failure for £250 , cosmetically perfect, could I buy it, do the work myself ( if got a series 3 so I've cried , bled and sweat on many occasions ) and have it in back for under £300 including the cost of the car? Today it passed the Mot with me only spending £47 on it , so I'm well chuffed , it's got one advisory I need help with , rear diff rubber split , I have given it a bit of a shake and I think the only one that is split is the rear passenger side . I can see the 3 bolts that need removing , I might take the back box off for access. The head room is pretty good , do I need to lift it or support anything or can I just remove the bolts ( yeah I know probably seized ) slip the new one in and tighten or is it not that easy ???
