Yes it’s been a good education so far. Still going and can’t think of another car I have driven that compares to the D2. Slight hesitation on the cold mornings this week but it gets there and has been incredibly cold.

Just got back from my MOT. And passed with no advisories!

Hi. Since posting originally I have now replaced the rear quarter chassis and power steering pipes and a lot of the intercoolers. Passed mot yesterday so very pleased. Costs of the work has not been cheap but I have ended up with a very useable d2 I think.

Hi Just sharing some pictures of the replacement chassis that was installed this week and a picture of how bad it was. Hopefully prolonging her life considerably.

And the pipes are in. You were right about the intercooler. Much thicker but still fits ok. Nearly there.

Thanks for the intel. It has certainly been a voyage of discovery. 😂 after I have enjoyed her a bit more and before mot I need to tackle the rear chassis. Could patch carefully but think of just biting the bullet and removing tank to do a full rear section.

Currently fitting new power steering pipes, while I’m there ac condenser needs changing, intercooler for turbo as well. Looking forward to getting back on the road as only just done the brake discs pads and calipers the week before!

Applied lanoguard to the chassis today. Looks good so far. Took time to wire brush and convert any issues with jenolite. Going to top up the bits I missed tomorrow. Bought ultimate pack and only used half so good value. Not too messy.

Hi I have on my list to do the headlining. I think my 90 1987 was originally a pickup and converted as the main body is blue originally and the top window section is white (before it was all painted desert). I have found this headlining on eBay...

Looks a good one from pictures. And sensibly priced.

You might have too much grease on the coil wire or wiper arm gears. I just changed my entire wiper system and only slightly greased. All seem to be fine. Also a stupid point but are your wiper arms on your tight enough?

Changed the drive belts to cure the squeaking. They and the pulleys were covered in oil from an old leak (also assisted the demise of my temp sensor). Now changed I could swear the engine sounds better. Also changed rocker cover seal and cleaned the cover up. I ordered some new rubber grommets...

Thanks for post. I should have said here that last weekend I had a proper look with a friend who knows more about things than me and thinks actually just needs some patches and will pass mot then. Since listing I have actually decided to keep hold of her and let the advert run.
