I am hoping this is the last issue to discuss after my rebuild.

My wipers do not have the correct range of movement. See the videos below, when not on the screen they have the full range, but as you add resistance (put the pipers down) the range of movement decreases until it is very little with both wipers on the screen

I have not tested in the wet yet that is my next step to see if with less friction (wet screen) the problem improves but even if this is the case there is clearly still an underlying problem.

For reference the wheel boxes are new (an well greased), the park switch is new, and all of the wiring looms and switches are new. The rack itself (well greased), and the motor are "unknown" parts form the donor bulkhead.

I have had the motor apart already to switch the park position 180 degrees as when first fitted park was at the top of the screen not the bottom. I am assuming that the issue is to do with slack in the system somewhere as the motor is clearly working correctly. Is this likely to be the motor drive wheel or the spring rack itself? What am I looking for to diagnose and check to hopefully repair rather than replace?

Wonder if they are spinning on the splined adaptors? Worth a look but dry testing isn't ideal anyway, wet it up.

You might have too much grease on the coil wire or wiper arm gears. I just changed my entire wiper system and only slightly greased. All seem to be fine.

Also a stupid point but are your wiper arms on your tight enough?

bit of an update to this although not fixed. With use the wipers became erratic, the length of swing varied greatly and one minute would be off the screen slamming into the drip rail at the bottom and the next barely moving as in the original video.

I have fitted a new coil wire, and a new first section tube (I was not sure the nut had not stripped its threads). I have also fitted the old motor from the burnt out bulkhead after bench testing it to ensue it was working. This has now given me a full swing constituently however I now have another issue.

With the new motor I have lost the fasted speed and the intermittent wipe functions. This is not a wiring issue with the loom or the park switch as that is all the same and was working with the original motor. this must be a fault with the motor itself. For now I will put up with it as at least I have correctly functioning wipers all be it only at on speed. This motor never functioned at the fasted speed prior to catching fire so this doe snot surprise me but the loss of intermittent is new. i am not sure how these motors are wired up internally but I was under the impression they were a straight motor and all the changes happened in the loom before getting to the motor.

On looking at the original motor there is very little play in the gear drive but it looks like the little ali insert at the the end the tube screws onto may have stripped it threads. I will order a new one of those and refit this motor and see if that fixes the issue with the variable arc and gives me back all of the wiper functions.

Don't forget the wiper relay. They go wrong and cause all sorts of weird stuff to happen to the wipers. Given that there's a problem with the intermittent wipe function, I'd be thinking about the relay. It's considerably more than just a relay - they've got printed circuit boards inside them, so loads to malfunction.

That was brand new about 6 weeks ago when I first put the 110 back on the road. I didn't have any intermittent because I had fitted a flasher relay because that is what was fitted to the wiper on my donor bulkhead and I just swapped everything over rather reading what they actually were!

Ah, yes, of course. We've had this conversation before!
