    Daily runner

I will take a look. it does worry me. Saw a lovely looking 110 in the car park the other day and thought he is brave. It was still there the following day!

    Daily runner

Thanks for the tip. That’s the reason I don’t drive my old 90 to the station. Wouldn’t take anyone long. I just thought a newer disco or fl might be better. just seen a d2 metropolis 122k miles in the next village which looks very nice. Up for 5995 which seems high on comparison. I will resist...

FL2 looks a good bet especially at the price. have been looking at D2s as I always wanted one when I was a kid but chassis problems are a concern. I guess you just have to get a good one and look after it.

    Daily runner

Hi Hope all having good weekends. I have spent a few hours until my fingers went numb from cold sorting out rear lights on my 1987 90. decided to do a bit of window shopping at local landrover dealership as my contract on my Audi is due to end soon. my mileage has dropped quite a lot...

    1987 LR 90 rear mudflaps

that seems to be the case with all rivet tools whether pop or rivnut. I am on my second pop rivet tool as the first broke and I bought a third to do larger rivets as the tension on the smaller tool was too hard on my hands.

    1987 LR 90 rear mudflaps

I’ve been looking at these and other diy methods of riveting but a proper interchangeable gun seems better as it Will do multiple sizes.

    1987 LR 90 rear mudflaps

Thanks. Yes stainless steel probably best as alloy would cause issues against steel.

    1987 LR 90 rear mudflaps

Thanks everyone. Seems I need to progress my Land Rover journey to include rivnuts. Just made friends with pop rivetter and battery box. Thanks

    1987 LR 90 rear mudflaps

Hi I am looking to rear flaps and would like the original Land Rover ones as here https://www.lrparts.net/lrc1375rear-genuine-land-rover-defender-90-rear-mudflap-set-set-of-two-rear-mudflaps.html I believe they attach to the underside of the slanting part of the rear cross member but I have...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

I have just completed a replacement of my very rotten battery box with a nice new shiny YRM box kit. It has taken three days on and off with the bulk of that taking out old box, swearing at my pop rivet gun and trying to loosen bolts in door post which haven’t moved in 30 years I reckon and...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Changed the window channels, latch and handle in one door. Window travel improved however then went to do the same job on driver’s door only to find some helpful previous owner has welded around the inner door plate so I can’t remove to get to anything. Guess I will do all that when I replace...

    Considering a 90

Not cold, just the wrong clothing Limited experience that I have it comes down to what your use is. If like me you just want something to have fun in then a 90 suits. However you may want to tow, carry more stuff/people etc so a 110 gets more of that done although they are long. Happy hunting.

    New front door

Thank you for the full responses. a lot to think about. I may overhaul the seals and latch first and put runners in (there aren’t any currently which explains the wayward window winding). Their website seemed to over sell and try too hard which did concern me. If it’s that good you don’t...

    Defender L663 review !

Generally I believe in never looking back and moving forward. you need what is best for your business and the new one does all of that. As others have said you can’t compare the two. your old one is a great example for someone but at slightly high mileage how many years of heavy business use...

    New front door

Good afternoon. I just wondered if you had any views on the fully built replacement doors sold here https://www.sp-4x4.com/product_p/jwp5051.htm £800 sounds a lot but then I thought about what I need to replace: 1) door as completely rotten at bottom which for a galvanised one is about...

Yes thought that but the spot it hits is the weld joint on the step.

    Twin step fun and games

I double checked this morning and the rings also get in the way of the step lining up properly with the set of holes one up that you suggest. spacer arrived today so I will give that a go. For now my priorities are to get in the back rather than towing anything immediately. very grateful to...

    Twin step fun and games

Apologies for the typos! Holes at the top can’t be used as there is a lip of the panel behind which stops the nuts sitting flush. I might be able to move it all up one but I have very big off road tyres on so the level might be affected by a further lift. I have a spacer (£13 on eBay)...
