I agree with AI203. I completely removed the roof and side panels in one to do my cappings, It wasn't to bad a job, and it was on a 110 csw. I got the proper tub to side panel seals. And the windscreen panel to roof seals. I also sealed between the side panels and cappings, and roof to...

Its also a good opportunity to replace your screen and or screen seal if needed. It's a very easy job with the windscreen panel out.

If this problem was brought to the garages attention during the warranty period, and they haven't sorted it, they are still obliged to fix your car. Make sure you keep a record of problems times dates etc. Don't concern yourself with what the fault is, focus your attention on getting the garage...

The gap between the hard top sides and tub capping are vulnerable to rust which you can't get to. When I stripped My bodywork down, I ran a bead of black sealant along the gap to keep the water out.

The picture I've shown is the wheel to spacer interface, which offers minimal support. I'm not concerned with the spacer to hub interface. Like you said the hub centric part is wheel to spacer

That's what I thought but the spacer studs are through the wheel stud holes, if you rotate them to the next hole the position is exactly the same
