    Should have taken the turbo off and fitted it as a 20di like me.....once fully warm and on a run 40+png. Looks so much more tidy under the bonnet and in keeping. And its plenty fast enough for a cart sprung landrover.

    If you go to far....you will know....the engine will be knocky underload....retarded pump timing usually gives lots of blue smoke on idle and slower rpm when cold along with a mis fire......or if very retarded all the time. Make sure you scribe a line before starting so you can go back if it...

    When the handbook for my S3 was drawn up....1974.....oil tech was way behind what we have today....car engine are still made of steel and have sheel bearing....the piston still have steel rings.... Cannot see for the life of me why my landrover will spit its dummy out with a modern semi...

    If jacked up on a small jack....chock a wheel.....as the transmission parking brake has slop in it....dont want it moving on a bottle jack.

    Just fit it and dont say anything....feel free to tell your insurance company. Do you really want to fit it as a turbo version....a lot easier to fit as a DI.....ie without the turbo...still loads of power and a bit more economical...quieter and more in keeping when you open the bonnet.....I bet...

    Tyres should not contact the body before bump stop do there job. Not sure how much experience you have with old land rovers..but even with paras....you have to slow right down over these bloody road humps or the back end with take off. Are your shocks in good order and not to soft? Nick.

    Dodgy Brakes

    Modern shoes are **** poor....if you take the drums off look see it all of the lining is in contact with the drum.....maybe just part of the shoe.....BAD. Check the hdy cylinders are free to move in the cylinders.....no leaking gear oil or brake fluid. Just a load of dust floating around...
