If you have a multimeter measure the battery voltage when turning over if goes low battery is knackered. Might show 12 or 13 normally till put load on. Check connections tight too a bad connection can make it picky too. Or could be alternator not charging/drain as mentioned

I can't tell from the pic but I can't' see a pipe from the air filter going to that. Doesn't look like a standard setup Think a standard 200tdi usually has filter at passenger side front of engine bay. Not certain though I have a 300Tdi

You can put the snorkel where ever you can get it to fit. I know 300 tdi go onto drivers side easy but you can put it left or right. Wherever it's best to locate your pipework

It was off the app probably why doesn't work. Search defender 200/300tdi wading kit should be some connectors a reel of pipe etc

If you get a snorkel get one that has a pipe that comes into the engine bay not the ones that seal by clamping through the wing.

I put nipples in mine when I rebuilt it and normal ones with the nipples between the cups fitted fine (makes no sense why they aren't factory fit) normal angle though probably need them there on the cup for the ops kind of angle

My disco is stiff on that too, the 90 was too till I swapped the gear oil, some were filled incorrectly with atf, mtf94 I think was the better option. Removed it on 90 not done the disco yet, lacking time and effort
