Front near side tyre rubbing on radius arm

I thought only disco 1's had lock stops?

Front near side tyre rubbing on radius arm

Hi! I have noticed that on full lock I occasionally get an unpleasant squeaky sound from the front axle somewhere. Having recently cleaned and painted the front radius arms and changed the radius arm bushes, I can now see an area where the nearside arm had a tyre scrub mark on it. I suspect...

    Steering box Failing?

Well, what symptoms do *you* have, that make you think the box is failing?

TD5 - skidding noises on corners!

My eventual answer to this (for anyone finding this thread one day in the future!) is a bit vague. As part of a suspension overhaul (>110k miles), I replaced front radius arm bushes (polybushed), ARB drop links, shocks and springs, and the squealing vanished. Sadly, I've no idea which of the...

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Project ? Land Rover Discovery 2 SLS height controller - Fritzing Here ya go - everything needed is here. PCB layout, circuit diagram, code for the arduino (PIC). I will etch up a couple of boards and see if they work as planned. If they do, I will consider making them available if people...

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Ah, gotcha. Fortunately, because of the ECU constraints, the switch will only be allowed to work when the key is in position 2, and all doors are shut, so it's not as if some comedian will be able to lower the car onto the bump stops without the owner knowing about it ;-) The only issue will...

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Kill switch? I dont follow that bit - why would you need it?

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

There is a limitation though. Like the standard LR remote, the SLS will only go up or down if all the doors are shut. Which means, you either need to be in the car pressing the switch, or have the window open and reach in and press the switch. Another question is where to mount the switch - to...

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Schematic :-) The 'output' of this circuit is taken from the collector of Q1, and routed to the appropriate input pin on the green connector on the SLABS ECU. The switch will make the rear suspension go up and down.

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Well, now it works :-) I have a switch which makes the SLS go up if you press it one way, and down if you press it the other. I just need to try to get some smaller PIC boards then I will have something I can fit and forget :-) Is anyone else likely to be interested in a kit form of one of...

    1999 Td5 Rear Suspension Airbags

Worth having a look at the unions - is there an air leak from the top of the bag? Also, are the ride height sensors OK? Often the 'arm' that connects to the rear radius arm snaps etc, so the car might deflate that bag if it gets an erroneous signal that it's too high. David

    Jerky ride in low gears

As I said, my personal suspect is that the arm itself is seized on the side of the turbo wastegate assembly. Which requires no new parts ;-) Check that first if you havent yet! If it turns out that the arm isnt seized but the modulator is dead, here's the info you need to change it...
