    Engine Squeal - D2 Td5

I had the same with a Britpart belt I put on when I serviced the truck, changed the pulleys, tensioner etc... before I found it. Put a dayco belt on, no squeal. Britpart belt sounded like I had trapped an angry cage of budgies under the bonnet. Dunno if it might help you, but it’s a relatively...

Help a noob out (a Disco 2 suspension question)

Mine too. I was worried I had a bit missing from the truck when I first got her and saw that.

    D2 TD5 into Defender

There was a bloke wrote into LRO about this a couple of months ago. Apparently it made his temp and fuel gauges run backwards as the ecus are model specific. Apparently it will effect the fuelling etc... too it said, as they are set up to be optimal for the weight and tyre size of that model.

    Water down your snorkel...

Are both of those clogged with grub and dust or have they got wet then clogged? Pretty minging either way.

    Water down your snorkel...

The disco 1 I had before this truck had lost the hose that connected the snorkel to the air box at some point in its prior life in the hills around cheddar. Snorkel looked good but it was basically a length of drainpipe up the side in reality.

    Water down your snorkel...

Well that’s my mind at rest then. I’m bapping out the hole saws and sealant this weekend to fit mine, just wanted to check lol.

    Water down your snorkel...

Might be a proper noob question, but I passed a disco today in the torrential rain and thunder we had with a snorkel with the air ram bit facing forwards. Looking at the rain slamming on my windscreen as I was driving along... Got me thinking... what’s to stop rain being rammed down there as...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Lol, thankfully nothing... think it was for a roof mounted light bar with a radio fob, none of it worked when I tried it connected to the multi meter. I would have left it in and re used it, but when I moved it water came pouring out of the conduit soaking the battery and tray... it was still...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Changed the power steering fluid, first time the trucks had it done in a while by the look of the brown gak that come out... Also stripped out some rogue wiring the previous owner had installed for something or other...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Made a bracket to fit the spots to my winch bumper so that I can actually align them properly without fouling against the grill or the roo bar. Knew that aluminium bar I had at the back of the garage would come in useful one day.

    air suspension

‘‘Twas one of the deciding factors in buying my disco, it had springs woooooo! Totally agree with the ocd thing, it would properly trigger mine, plus with my truck I have enough to worry about already!

    Td5 viscous fan spanners

I just used an el cheapo pulley holding tool from eBay to do mine. Bit of a git to keep on the bolts but it did it eventually. Think it was about eight quid. Mind you I did have to give each flat on the bolt a robust tap with a hammer and blunt chisel bit before hand as it was seized lol.

    Sorry, newbie question ..

As a fellow noob, but veteran of a few forums, I’ve found the bods on this forum to be ace at helping newbies, properly helped me out of a pickle or two. Plus, like I say to my team at work “there are no silly questions apart from the ones you don’t ask...”

    The lemon has gone.....................

Lol I had the same with my d1 van, had it for six weeks before I threw in the towel. My mate I sold it to is happy as with it though. Mind you he has the time to pour into a truck with a rotten chassis.

Hopefully one of you learned individuals can guide me lol. Looking for the little rubber o ring that goes over the abs sensor to seal it in, front, td5 disco 2. Mr Haynes says to replace when you’ve had the sensor out. There wasn’t one in there to begin with! I may be searching for the...
