I wish. Still got to order the new bulkhead!

Whoop whoop. New chassis painted and fitted. Started at 6 this morning and finished at 3,30 this afternoon.

Sounds suspiciously like the module in the roof is on its way out.

I now have a hatred of suspension bushes and I have broken my vice trying to press them out. This week will involve overhauling the rear springs and associated components. Saturday is the big day. Lift the engine and gearbox and swap on to the nice new galvanised chassis:)

I lost my old D2 "Jerry" to terminal chassis rot. Back then I was skint and didnt have the confidence to do a chassis swap. What a fool I was.

New complete chassis. I regret letting mine go and not just fitting a new chassis.

I'll stick it up for sale then. I'm no fabricator and the thought of un galvanised steel on the sea front does not appeal to me. Especially on something like a bulkhead.

Great write up so far. Really enjoying reading it. Humm chassis rot on a D2, who would have thought it! I don't think that there is a decent temporary fix to the sun roof. Better off striping them out and overhauling them.

Good luck. 1st job is to thoroughly check the chassis for rot. 2nd is to order a new chassis because of the rot!

Point taken. But, there does seem to be a fair bit of abuse here to people who have made a genuine mistake with where they have posted their thread:( As for asking/giving advice, hopefully once project Noel is complete, I can stop asking questions/for help/advice and give guidance to a new set...

Quick update. Have continued striping off the springs etc and loosened off engine and gearbox bolts. New chassis arrived today:) Now got to prep and paint it.

Yes, as a replacement, bloody expensive I think? But as I'm buying a new bulkhead, I was going to repair the ones I have. Unless of course a new bulkhead comes with them already fitted? I'm confused!
