@Rubberknees hope your recovering well mate. I was advised by Rick the Pick that best charging battery disconnected as it can cause ECU's to warm up or short out, more so on old P38's, however this is with full chargers or jump starters not sure about trickle chargers but I disconnect anyway.

@Nifty190 Check to see if the engine symbol comes up on the dash on ignition 2 or when cranking, if this is not illuminated, then it has lost sync or a fuse blew in the engine fuse box as what happened to my dads 4.6 V8. The sync mate indicated no power to the ECU, check fuse, low and behold...

Is this hot start to do with old chain stretch? As had it when had old chains but new chains starts straight away from hot.
