Who says he left the handbrake off. Mine headed off down hill the day after it passed MOT and the handbrake was all the way on. Its just a crap handbrake.

On the MgRover site there are guys claiming nearly 200bhp out of this engine, but I wouldn't want their fuel bills.

Hpoe your very happy with the engine, its a good'n can't speak for the rest of the car though. As I've said before on here, think of it as a rover and you won't mind the problems quite as much.

Its the head gasket. It always is. Failing that is the VCU OK cos winding up the transmission would tighten up the box.

I think you are out by a factor of 10 but it won't make a difference to the cost or the fact that the thing will run on it.

Not torching it its been a good motor for 2 years and its cost v little. 270 rips for the MOT a full service and the front end problems noted here. Get that sort of deal on a ****in' Nissan

just when you think the Hippo has run out of ridiculous failings. About six months ago i decided to change the front bush on the drivers side lower suspension arm. After an hour with the socket set and a baddly disfigured pinkie I gave up as I could not get the long bolt out. Anyway this week...

On the subject of tyres and dodgy companies. I heard somewhere that Colway have ceased trading (again?) any news on them starting up again only I think my C-trax on the front of the Hippo are about finished, although they did get through the MOT.

Ther's a relay behind the trim on the drivers side of the boot that powers up when the window is up and allows the wiper to work. Don't know if that helps or not?
