just when you think the Hippo has run out of ridiculous failings.

About six months ago i decided to change the front bush on the drivers side lower suspension arm. After an hour with the socket set and a baddly disfigured pinkie I gave up as I could not get the long bolt out. Anyway this week its in for MOT and I ask them to do the bush as they have heat etc. to maybe persuade said item to come out.

No chance It would not come out so after discussion we bought a new lower arm chopped up the old one to get at the bolt and discovered that the captive bolt insode the chassis was turning. So, cut hole in chassis retrieve said bolt, weld it back in, cut up the arm a bit more to get the back bush out, refit everything and weld a patch back into the chassis.

What twonk designed that. I need to find another garage now as Tommy has told me to **** off if the other side goes.
Or ......................................................................sell the Hippo?

ask ratty for some tips.

RATTY'S TIPS

1) DON'T BUY A FREELANDER
2) IF IT IS TOO LATE AND YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE SELL IT
3) IF TIP NUMBER 2 FAILS BURN IT INSTEAD

Luckily for me I don't have a freelander and I haven't had to do one on a customers vehicle. Next time I get a freelander in I will have a ganders at it cos it does sound ridiculous.

actually i meant tips about the torching of said landy, didn't make it clear lol. but I aggree whole heartedly with the above !

Not torching it its been a good motor for 2 years and its cost v little.
