    Disco 2 Chirping noise

OK thanks, sounds like that could be it... just chirps as the engine is about to stop. Anyone know how "critical" this is ? I'm normally spot on getting stuff done, but I'm moving house in two weeks and all my stuff is packed away, so I could do with leaving it for a while. It doesn't sound too...

    Disco 2 Chirping noise

My Disco 2 TD5 makes a chirping/squealing sound for about 1-2 seconds as soon as it's started and when it's switched off (just before the engine dies/stops) Sounds like the serpentine belt but I've tried dusting it with a bit of talc to see if it changed the noise but it didn't. The belt...

    Disco 2 Newbie..May have Bought a Lemon!!

If the heater is not blowing air it could just be air locked.. there should be a bleed/fill procedure in the workshop manual for your engine.

    Disco 2 Front Bumper

I'm not looking to repair the existing, I'm looking to replace it

    Disco 2 Front Bumper

It was a young(ish) lad who was pretty polite and apologetic.. I'll give him a break. I did report it to my insurance just for the record. We also recorded the conversation afterwards of him admitting it and apologising to me. I texted him later to say as long as he pays I don't want to claim...

    Disco 2 Front Bumper

OK thanks Neilly, that's what I was thinking... it's a pain for me as it wasn't my fault and the other guy was OK, so I would just change it myself as long as he pays for the parts (seems easy enough) but it looks like finding a good 2nd hand one is not going to be easy.

    Disco 2 Front Bumper

Yeah I just took a cursory look on the net, even busted 2nd hand ones seem to fetch about £100-£150... The lad that rolled into me was OK, he apologised and I said no need for insurance if he pays for the repair, TBH I'm not so sure now as it looks like it could be pricey..

    Disco 2 Front Bumper

Some guy rolled back into me tonight at a set of lights and busted my front bumper, the plastic part under the grille by the number plate. I guess it could be called the overrider panel Can this part be obtained as a separate part ? or do I need a complete bumper ? It's a Disco 2 facelift 53...

    Land Rover Discovery Disc Replacement

Hi Brookstain... I bought a new set of Mintex rear discs for a Discovery 1 by mistake instead of for my Discovery 2... my mistake so I couldn't return them. :-( I still have them brand new in the box if you're interested. ?

    Disco 2 ACE pipes (rear)

All finished. Linked out pins 11-36 on the ECU Took it out for a drive, feels exactly the same to me... obviously the ACE system is better that the passive system, just for my slow driving style it feels the same. Anybody want to buy any ACE spares ? I have pump, ACE block, front and rear...

    Disco 2 ACE pipes (rear)

Spent last two nights removing all the ACE parts. TBH I think my pipes were pretty rusted out all over. When I removed the front ones they just kinked over where they go under the wheel arch. I'm sure it would have given my further grief. I fitted the standard rear anti-roll bar and bushes, and...

    Three amigos yet again

My post above wasn't clear... basically I had an un-resettable fault on the ABS sensor, I replaced the sensor only, cleared the faults and was OK for a day or two, then it came back.... I just thought bugger it, I'll just reset it again thinking it would last another day or so..........two...

    Three amigos yet again

Similar thing happened to me recently. Replaced the ABS sensor on the front driver side, cleared the fault and went for a drive. It was fine for about a day or so (previously it had been un-resettable) so I just reset it again as I didn't have time to look at it.... that was about 2 months ago...

    Disco 2 ACE pipes (rear)

My friendly LR specialist had a pair of used anti roll bars, so I got those plus all the new other parts, drop links, bushes. idler pulley, belt etc for just less than £200... last night I removed the rear ACE ram and anti roll bar and 90% fitted the standard one. Not too bad a job, just rusty...

    Disco 2 ACE pipes (rear)

Hi MJI OK thanks, I've registered to join that discussion board so I can read the thread. From what I've read, I'm undecided weather to replace the pipes or just remove everything and fit the kit from Island 4 X 4 ?? I'm a bit concerned that the pipes are pretty expensive, nearly as much as...

    Disco 2 ACE pipes (rear)

My 53 plate discovery 2 deposited a pool of fluid under the rear diff today. I thought at first it was a leak from the drain plug or pinion oil seal, however it quickly became obvious that it's from the ACE pipes that route over the rear diff, they are very rusty. The underside of the car is...

    Disco 2 Drivers Door Hinge

I've noticed a bit of play/movement in the hinge pins on the drivers door of my D2 facelift. If I grab the outer edge of the door I can move it up & down and can see that movement at the top hinge pin. Is it easy to replace the pins ? I think on my MGF you could get a kit with bushes that just...
