    Clutch, No clutch

+2. The 2 Roll pins holding release fork to cross shaft have snapped , as stated above gearbox/transfer box out. The roll pin and new slave cylinder are cheap as chips. http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/clutch-fork-roll-25td-genuine-ftc1692lr-p-32908.html...

Testing if 4WD is actually working

Locating a pair of 3.9 ratio diff's could be a problem these days, wasn't a problem 20+ years ago. You'd better start searching now and be prepared to rebuild them, if you find any.

Testing if 4WD is actually working

Come down to London/South East and join our wonderful rural/urban mobile car parks, you'll be lucky to average 10 mph in London traffic at times. I never noticed any difference on fuel usage, my most economical Series was my 2a/3 109 Station Wagon. I re-built it from the chassis up, rover...

Testing if 4WD is actually working

It doesn't sound like you have a problem at all. Are you expecting the front wheel to be rock solid without any rotational movement when in FWD???

Testing if 4WD is actually working

When the Free Wheeling Hubs are engaged (connected to the drive train), with the Hi/Lo lever forward and the yellow knob is pushed down the vehicle is in High Ratio FWD. Yeo, you must when returning to the tarmac road surface, move the HI/LO lever from the Hi position to the Lo position then...

Testing if 4WD is actually working

Hubs do not appear to be the issue. That's correct so far, if the Low Ratio lever is pulled back and hubs are locked the wheel only turns a bit then locks (correct as it should be), in gear HI/LO lever pushed forward, transfer gearbox is in 2 wheel drive High Ratio, the 4x4 is disconnected in...

Testing if 4WD is actually working

Jack up one wheel, pull the HI/LO lever back into the Low Position, now turn the prop by hand, does it turn or is it locked in place with a bit of movement (1/2 Turn)???

Testing if 4WD is actually working

    1. Jack one front wheel up, with both FWH engaged, does the front prop turn when the wheel is turned, now jack up the other side and retest..only lift one wheel at a time (if you can, hold the prop with one hand and turn the wheel with the other, to make sure the FWH is engaged). 2. With just...

    Becm problems

Most of the time (at this height) they're below or level with you flying over the Thames, apart from the Air Ambulances which buzz around a fair bit. Safety harness and 2 lanyards with scaffold hooks, the most you'll fall is 6 feet, just make sure your clipped on to a solid item.
