Well, we cycled the mountain course on Saturday. Brill. After a swim and jacuzzi went out on the cycles with the girls. Treated ourselves to the pub then. Sunday morning before breakfast we cycled up the mountain to have the adrenaline rush coming back down. Then up the mountain on the railway...

My golden rule is not to lane alone but this opportunity seems too good to miss. I wouldn't want to put on anyone over there so just a pointer would be welcome. I presume the lanes on the mountain would be rocky therefore non damaging by me?

It will be the one car with 2 'laners' in it. I have a winch fitted.

Long shot here... Anyone have any knowledge of the byway near the top of Snaefell? Windy Corner to Glenroy. Looks to be above the tree line so looks to be non scratchy but seems mega steep. There's no info on Trailwise. Anyone driven it recently?

I'm an Apple user. I used to run a full sized IPad with Memory Map and 1:50 maps. Now I use an IPad mini, smaller screen but clearer with the Retina display so equally easy to see. Look south of Barmouth on the other side side of the bay. There's a UCR that runs parallel to the A493. Not hard to see on a map :-) From the other side of a bay it must have good views.....

Glass is the Green Lane Association. Does what it can to fight to keep the lanes open. Being a member gives access to the Trailwise database which is very handy to find the lanes. So yes, it's beneficial to join Glass.

If you look at the above threads you will learn how to find Green Lanes. If you join Glass you will then have access to Trailwise, a database of Lane's where you will have a good idea if they are still legal to drive. Have fun whilst doing the above, it's how the rest of us have done it.

There are no Green Lanes in Scotland so that makes the trip a tad awkward.

I think you'll find hardly any peeps even bother to reply to you tpress. Only 30 posts in 5 1/2 years? If you're not known, you could be a member of the anti brigade looking for clues as to which lanes to close next...... You'd be better off putting in the hours to find them yourself or to join...
