Had panel out on my 3.6 to drill hole for aux lead up to front foot well and as I said all those sockets are on a printed circuit so my thought would be maybe dry joint on aux socket to printed circuit, powerful have a video on how it comes apart.

Head unit, doubt its fiber problem or nothing would work thats my thought on it, I could be wrong of course as herindoors keeps telling me.

I guess you have selected aux on the head unit so other thing to think about is circuit board that aux and 12v sockets are mounted on is damaged, time to pull it apart I think.

Good job I have a spare then brand new still in the packet.

Used it to tow a J--P with a deaded gearbox from a friends house to his workshop then change ends to push it into said workshop after first pushing a Chevy blazer in there with a dead starter.

Good call @backinblack , seen mention of drive shaft popping out the diff before and it did it more than once if I remember.

Instead of pulling the fuse @hlarry try disconnecting the power lead from the telestart unit and then pairing the fob I have seen this mentioned on other forums as being the way to pair it if pulling the fuse doesnt work. The 2008 RR I have now has the telestart receiver fitted but no remote and...

Wrong side, its on left side (passenger side) of car right next the prop 17mm hex head.

If its got the original analogue tv unit there is a way of connecting a reverse camera to that, I did it on my 2004 L322 found all the info over on fullfatrr forum (sorry chaps and lady type chaps) and the image was far better than the 2008 I have now.

Try BMW e46,e53, e83 fill/level plug on ebay thats where got mine from couple years ago doubt you will find one in this country but available in poland and that area.
