Leak Carburettor 32/34 DMTL Weber - 2.5 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine defender.

Have you checked all the screws holding the body together? Mine came a bit loose & ran crap as let a bit of air in as well. Check stop solenoid is tight in the body as well. If all are tight get a gasket set & rebuild

    200tdi stalling issue

@lynall been ages since Iv played with the pumps…. Is the stop solenoid a plunge or lift to stop? If it’s removed can you either lift/press down for the motor/pump to run? Thanks

    200tdi stalling issue

Mine was a V8 loom and has a relay,if I remove it fuel solinoid does not work. If you have 1 and it’s slightly faulty it may stop start the solenoid. And I do not have a mechanical lift pump. Mines electric. Even if this is not turned on some how it still pulls fuel through & runs sweet.

    200tdi stalling issue

I would think if the belts out it would not run? Extra smoke & not rev 1 tooth out. As it’s intermittent could you get a 12v to the solinoid to rule that normal cable out? Does yours have a starter relay ?(behind fuse board)

    200tdi stalling issue

Normally they allow fuel/air back to the tank when turned offf. With the engine running they should be fine. remove the cotton outer on the spill pipes & look for cracks.

How much slack in the throttle cable? Could the idle screw moved? Crap diesel, when was the last fill up? Crap in filter(could be water related as cold mornings causing dew in tank)

Disco 1 How were the Chassis’s originally painted?

Some places get the chassis cooked first in a big oven to crack the paint. Then dip to clean them. Once done the galv process is done. Where you getting the chassis galvanised?

Rear spring stuck in upper seat

Have you looked to see if they have put a jubilee clip on to hold the spring in place ? As for isolator ring they are just rubber rings to stop vibrations. Only other tip is to use a jack under tow hitch, axle stand under oposite side, remove the wheel(side without the axle stand) and let it...

Anyone got a totally original Series Vehicle ?

Keeping it going is sometimes better than keeping it standard…. Some parts are better than others on series stuff. I sometimes put newer/updated parts on,it’s hard buying stuff for 1950smotors
