    Collectable

I'm a bit puzzled. If you don't know a series from a defender how have you accumulated four? And four of what?

You can here them weeping from here!

There's people on here that don't even like different versions of their own Landy:p

Yeah, but where's the fun in that? I mean, who needs a driveway that's just one colour. BTW, did you get any of that snow the other day?I know a lot landed on the eastern seaboard, but don't know how far it spread.

    Hi all

Welcome indeed! Like Turbo, I'me the proud owner of a 90, and (apart from not being able to sleep in it) I agree with his assessment:) I'm often over in Midleton, might have a chance to buy you a pint sometime.

    New box, but sticky gears

I think I have an excuse for a nice long drive this weekend:D

    New box, but sticky gears

    First question I asked!

    New box, but sticky gears

That's what I thought James, but the clutch doesn't begin to engage until about half way out, as before. Clutch, slave cylinder and bearing are all nearly new, and I had the flywheel face skimmed when I rebuilt it.

Thanks Nobber, I'll give them a call. I'll draw a discreet veil over your sexual fantasies :p

    New box, but sticky gears

I bottled out of installing it myself, due to the gravel drive, cold weather and general idleness on my part. A good garage fitted them for me, and included a slick shift. So, I would expect them to have set it up properly All other gear changes seem OK, a little stiffer than before, but with the...

    Classic 205 (or not)

Snow specifically, but I would think it applies to deep soft mud as well. Dunno really, just seems logical to me.

    New box, but sticky gears

I've just had a refurbished LT77 Ashcroft gearbox fitted to my 90, together with a rebuilt tranny box. The garage fitted a spigot bush, but the clutch and slave cylinder were only about 4000 miles old, so these were untouched. Reverse gear is now much harder to change out of, with a very firm...

    Classic 205 (or not)

I've seen info that says narrower tyres are better for snow. The wider tyres skate over the top, but narrower ones bite down through. This obviously doesn't apply in Iceland, where there is no bottom to the snow, but in the UK it seems logical to me.

Mansfield 4x4 in Bury St Edmunds would be my suggestion. Trustworthy and really know their stuff.

Disco 1 What height hydraulic jack?

Shirley If you're using axle stands you would only lift one side at a time?

Disco 1 What height hydraulic jack?

I use a mercedes sprinter bottle jack off fleabay, cost around £35 quid. Chose a good supplier though. I've stood a jack on a large block of wood, but of course would never climb under a motor without it being on stands.

Freelander 1 Quoted £350 to do the brake hoses

There's a fifth from the copper brake line to the connector on top of the rear axle, if it's like the defender. £55 for a set from Rimmers.

    Best place for wheel/tyre packages

@Pkplonker There is a thread about this, hopefully this link will lead to it. www.landyzone.co.uk/forum/landyzone-12-2016.81/ It is also listed in the forums Great fun the last two years (the only two years!), and I'm going again.
