Thanks for the offer Greyhair, but I am now thinking the solution might be worse than the problem. I don't tow often, and I can hitch the caravan easily as long as I take the spare wheel off. I thought the DB hitch might make this easier, but I would pay a penalty due to the hitch grounding.

I'm sure someone will come up with a list of the eccentric vehicles that have attended over the years. I'm certain that you would be well welcomed, and I seem to recall that a Vitara is not too bad at all off road. See you there!

I only tow two or three times a year, taking the tin tent to LZ13 (of course!), Suffolk show and similar. The only reason I thought about an adjustable hitch is that it would make coupling the caravan a little easier, as the spare wheel gets in the way during the process. I'm beginning to think...

'Bout the same here in Suffolk. Not staying though. Good job too, as I still haven't changed my chassis. I was dreading having great banks of snow, and having to sit there SORNed.

This badly needs updating and highlighting on the site. I was recommending this to a mate, and he couldn't find the info for LZ13. The reason is that the header is Landyzone 12. The price is also wrong on the old flyer, should read £50 for two plus camping.

The take - away lunch was a great idea, delicious as well. I seem to remember even the sausages were good, not always the case with food vans:D
