    Drive Flange Leaking

    Can anyone shed any light as to why I continue to have a constant leak coming from my rear axle drive flange. I have changed the gasket twice with a decent sealant and have checked the breather on the axle. Oil from the diff appears to be running up the half shaft.:confused: Thanks

    According to the bible that is Haynes. It suggests that the bolts should be re-tourqed after a short period of time after the initial repair. Is this just putting off replacing the gasket again???

I had no gasket and the thinest of what looked like bathroom sealant that had ****ed everywhere apart from where it should have been. I did get a proper gasket to the tune of £12 and sealed...

    Are Sump Guards worth it?

    Ive recently fitted a steering guard, bog standard, 5mm galvanised steel. The only nause I had was to free up the original mounting bolt from steering drop arm and chassis. Dont think it had been removed in its entire life. In terms of negative affect to sump cooling I think its negliable...
