    Defender LT77 gearbox advice.

    my 200tdi 90 with 1.4 transfer box, 235/85 tyres will sit at 70. it sits at 70 all the 130 mile journey along the motorway from home to uni. i will be fitting a 1.2 transfer box to drop the revs a bit though

    Panhard bushes

    the panhard bushes will be the same. wide and narrow radius arm axles are slightly different as the distance between the brackets are narrower or wider. although these brackets can be bent slightly to make either fit.

    when i changed mine i had a socket that fitted just about well enough to undo it. to be honest mine really wasnt that tight, but the joint was very worn. you'll definitely be able to get a spanner on the nut, even if its just an adjustable one

    R.E. the A frame mount on the rear axle. it is the same as a ball joint for the steering, its on a taper. you wont knock the stuck bit out in the direction you are trying to as the part you are hitting is the larger end of the taper. you have to knock it out the other way, so from where the nut...

    i'll get some channel ordered up and give it a go when i rebuild it all, hopefully this easter, definitely before summer. i think i'll take the windows out though, because i want to repaint the hardtop sides, and replace all the other roof window seals as they have gone hard and leak like crazy...

    i use half a tube of one shot in each swivel, then add ep to make up the difference. never had an issue. one shot, when it gets hot is similar to ep anyway, and when its cold it sticks to everything much better then the ep does, the ep just runs off the surfaces when hot. its not swivels but...
