    Sound deadening- sources of noise?

How so? I'd have thought a more absorbent interior would only benefit acoustics due to fewer reflections.

    Drive Flange Plate

Hello all, Had a mechanic in the other day to do some work and he said that I was going to need a new drive flange plate on my front right wheel. Where's the best place to get one from? Do I need one or is it best to get a pair? Heavy duty or not? One thing I do know is that I'm going to need...

Soundproofing, insulation and do I need a headliner?

Something else: I'd like to have a couple of cargo nets and the like, how do I attach those to the carpet and foam? You don't have to drill all the way through to the outside of the car?

Soundproofing, insulation and do I need a headliner?

Thanks for the advice guys. So if I remove the headliner I won't have to faff with all of the roof furniture? Then I'll definitely pull it and soundproof all the way.

Soundproofing, insulation and do I need a headliner?

Thanks Marmaduke, what did you do about the windows in you station wagon? I have visions of being able to see the edged of the foam. I notice that the edges around your alpine windows have been left, is that 'cos it's a chew on?

Soundproofing, insulation and do I need a headliner?

Hey all, I am planning on soundproofing my defender and hopefully getting a free bit of insulation as well. This is my first winter in the 90 and not only is it cold n there but it's bloody noisy too! Some questions, if you don't mind. All of this relates to my 2001, 90 station wagon. TD5...

    My first ever Defender 90

Just every part in their catalogue. In seriousness, I suppose some of it could be ok, but you get what you pay for. Mine came with britpart mud flaps that I replaced not due to them being bad, just my own embarrassment. Was afraid people would laugh at me .....

    What's it's like to own a defender

They're not that expensive when you think everyone else will buy a new car every 3 years. Just use that money to tart the landie up. I spent 7k on a 90 SW that had been well kept but needed some work, I'm a further 2k in to it but I haven't lifted a finger. I should really learn.......

6ft 2" how do you get in?

Right hand on the angled bit of the door frame, right foot in the car, using it to step up, left foot straight in. It's easy, isn't it? Average height (5'9") and standard car on standard tyres.

    Hello from Newcastle(ish)

Thanks guys. Yeah it is a bit shiny, but it's been a car all it's life. One careful lady owner and all that. Sold it because the kids can't go on the benches so she's bought a td5 disco. The snorkel I'm not a huge fan of, will likely come off when I can be bothered. That's on the list, after...

Hello everybody, Just a quick hello to introduce myself, my name is Jack and after around 2 years of half-looking and dreaming I bought a nice defender about two weeks ago. Ta da! I've been a member here for a little while, just reading this forum has been invaluable whilst I've been...
