    Yeah I suppose thats a good idea. Each will feel very powerful anyways as I will be going from a 1.2 engine so. I'll need to get some test drives booked soon!

    Thanks for the insight! You have a rough idea of what I should be spending? My research suggests £10+ will get me something solid (hopefully). I plan to inspect everything on the car first to make sure it is as best as it can be first though.

    So from that synopsis both are a good choice. Just TD5 would be more expensive to repair.

    I am looking at a D90. Prefrably a 300TDI or a TD5. A V8 would be fun but I heard them engines are a bit of a pain.

    What did you end up getting? The hunt is fun. There are so many new defenders listed everywhere each day. Some tatty some gorgeous. Even if I get an amazing one it will need work! Also I don't know how much he wants but I love the colour!
