Seeking advice regarding defender slave cylinder push rod/ clutch fork retaining clip

Failed to remove box today. Starter motor on 200 TDI no idea how to access. Rounded nut on turbo so that's a no go from above. From underneath? Everything else done ready to drop gearbox, even slackened all bellhousimg bolts in sight. I know you guys experienced will think this is hilarious...

Buying a Range Rover L322 vs Discovery 2, advice requested.

Disco 2 owner here. Need computer to programme in new keys, had an ignition barrel fail and had to strip and bodge to save 500 quid. Parts are more expensive than older land rovers. If its 8000 miles a year only I'd be wanting something that didn't depreciate. If your wanting something bling...

Very interesting result, was bleeding and getting good pressure then ping. Now clutch is hard and won't move when push on it. Suspect rod has gone through fork. Gearbox coming out tomorrow and will find out whats going on. Then order parts during week and fit next weekend. Lying on wet ground...

Seeking advice regarding defender slave cylinder push rod/ clutch fork retaining clip

Snapped one of the clips on the plastic so its going in without plastic, and with pritstick dollop on the end of the rod ball, and a sleeve made from PVC 6mm tube slit down the middle and lubricated with sunflower oil. Using the longer push rod 3912 so I have more sticking out of the bellhousing...

Thanks for links. I've found out 3912 rod and 5202 cylinder are for r380 box. The 3502 cylinder and 5199 are for what I have, the lt77 gearbox. Thanks for the input James and Marm this has led me to being confident to rebuild now by realising what's happened is the rod last night just...

Seeking advice regarding defender slave cylinder push rod/ clutch fork retaining clip

I didn't know what gearbox I had so I got both sizes. I now know I've got lt77 because reverse is to the left of first. However, the rods I bought are land rover genuine, they are both longer than what came out of the vehicle. Pushed a screw driver in and found the fork not to be punched...

Seeking advice regarding defender slave cylinder push rod/ clutch fork retaining clip

Got it in the end. Had fallen south toward middle of vehicle. Magnetic head wasn't flexible so bent it 90 degrees got it that way. I can see why holes are cut... Next issue is I've got two new slave cylinders and both have different length push rods. One has a bleed screw flat facing to the...

Precautions while storing Defender for four months?

V interesting. Diesel flu can be grown by adding water to diesel and putting the mix in a sealed container. Part of an experiment I did some years ago to find the brand of fuel with least cost per mile driven, not cheapest per litre. Also, vosa become very suspicious when there is green fuel in...
