    Taking my 110 round France

    Best advise I can give is to get the names and adresses of as many landy people living in France as you can so if you need help you might have a friendly english speaking person on hand. You can start with me if you like as I am right in the middle.

    Discovery 2, help needed :(

    Sometimes the ignition switches on these act up. Take the cover off the steering housing (6 star screws) so you can get at the large rubber protector on the back of the switch. Push on this in the direction of the key while trying your key in the starter. It might work.

    Grind while heavy braking?

    The ABS can scare the hell out of you the first time you use them. I know someone who swerved to avoid a cat, slamed on the anchors to stop, heard and felt the noise so let off the brakes and whent through a hedge. Just ingnore them or run over the micra.

    Sounds as though your starter motor switch would not switch off. Your starter motor kept going and burnt itself out. All the others are not that daft you know. As its an auto box you have a problem to get it going again without a new starter motor.

    I,ve only seen clutches wear out on discos that have been driven by ladies with horse boxes. They usualy break their rivets in the centre first. If they are wearing out you get a bit of notice by clutch slip up hill in too high a gear. If the rivets are about to go you get no warning at all but...
