    Get a towbar fitted - great for deflecting small cars - had a Saxo rear end me, pretty much wrote it off - all it did to the disco was get some red paint on the towbar!

    Sounds good for £2k. Make sue no leaks from autobox, gets expensive. Td5 is a good motor, from my experience, just watch out electrical gremlins, like injector loom

    They're good fun & interesting - I've borrowed one from work to look at house heating & hot water system. You can see hwere hot water pipes run under the floor etc. Completely unrelated to landie, but never mind!

    Be interested to know, my son is 18 & quotes are horrendous for most basic tin box. I wondered if a 90 / series might be better, or maybe not until he's 21 & can get benefit of classic insurance?

    disco 2 , abs problem

    Do you have the '3 amigos' warning lights on the dash? ABS, HDC & TC. Could be a sensor fault or other, more complicated problem. I only know about the sensor problem, I managed to reset it by using a nanocom & it went away.
