Hi. External door hinges are one of the defining features of Defender design. There are ways of making them secure which are a lot less work than fabricating internal hinges. As long as the top of the door frame can be pulled out then then the door will never be secure.

I used about 50ml of brake fluid to fix a steering box leaky seal. Six months later and it's still dry.

Is there a local 4x4 club near you? Join up and maybe someone would be willing to take you out greenlaning. You'll gain lots of valuable experience and you will come in handy when people get stuck.

There are heavy duty striker pin springs which overcome the weight of the spare wheel an allows the bonnet to pop-up when you pull the bonnet release cable. This makes it possible to open the bonnet with only one person. Handy. MUC4803 upto chassis TA983377 ASR1229 after that but not TD5.

I agree with both the above comments BUT as a technical exercise only, could you begin with a 110 chassis and mount a 90 tub and cab so that the rear wheel arches sit correctly over the rear axle. Could the bulkhead be attached in the new position? Using the 110s engine and transmission on their...

How was it before the strip down? How has it been stored and for how long?

Like what you did with the head lining. That's a job for my 110 in the future. Where did you get the fabric from?

I think in the future original vehicles will become more sought after, harder to find and command a higher price.

To be fair, mine is particularly noisy because it only has half an exhaust. The rear half. :rolleyes:

Do you have any sound deadening? I haven't on my 1997 110 and I have to turn the radio up so loud that it hurts. Doesn't matter how good your system is, you're still going to crank it up to high to be comfortable.
