my oil pressure and temp gauge dont work and i dont know where they are located on the engine so i want to find out if its a duff sender or its the gauges that are f**ked

hi folks i recently purchased a 1988 110 with a j19 engine the problem is the temp gauge does not work nor the oil pressure gauge. does anyone know the location of them on the engine i have a haynes but that dont seem to help me :(

could be ithe ignition switch is f**ked on the back of the barrel

Thanks for the advice an the displays that dont work will have a play tomorrow if i can get my new ignition switch from romac

i dont have a manual its hard to get one seing as the 1988 110 was originally a 3.5 v8 then converted to a j19 box and engine so its a bit of a hybrid i only have 4 fuses on the steering columb too

thanks for this link was very helpfull now just need to find out if its on or off as the dif lock light does no longer work nor the oil pressure gauge or coolant tempeture gauge

lol does it need to be in neutral first ? and is it a push to left then push up or down for gear or b push over to left then pull back right and put into gear ? sorry for the stupidness it does have a plate in the land rover that tells you only problem is that it only has about 4 words...

so do i push over to the left then put in hi or low or just push over to left to engauge it ?

Just had a little play with her tonight and I have managed to start her up by running a live feed from the battery to the fuel cut off at position 2 on the ignition I get no lights unless I put a little pressure towards the sprung 3rd position but when I power the starter motor I loose power to...

now i get you:rofl: yeah it seems to be getting worse :frown:

i have just brought a 110 county 1988 2.5 j19 diesel and having problems with getting it running, it starts and runs for a second then cuts out i have tested the fuel solinoid and there is power at 1 click but when i move to turn her over i loose power ? help please :frown:
